Review: Lily On Clement.

A newer addition to the Richmond District is popular Vietnamese spot, Lily on Clement.

Open for lunch and dinner, this yummy Vietnamese restaurant offers classic favorites as well as some fun twists.

Lily on Clement.

Inside Lily on Clement.

We went for lunch so it was pretty mellow but it can get quite crowded for dinner. The menus are also different for lunch and dinner.

Vietnamese Ice Coffee and Lotus Green Tea.

The Vietnamese ice coffee had condensed milk and a salty duck egg cream, quite unusual. The lotus green tea had lemongrass and pieces of mango, lychee, and goji berries. Very refreshing.

Salt and Pepper Fried Calamari (8.5/10).

Fried calamari is one of my favorite dishes to eat and surprisingly I don’t have it often. This was perfectly crispy seasoned with lots of black pepper.

Vietnamese BBQ Broken Rice Plate (7.5/10).

This was a delicious lunch platter with BBQ pork, lemongrass chicken, rock shrimp, duck spring roll, and a fried egg. So hearty.

Roast Beef Pho Dip Sandwich (7.5/10).

For lunch, they have several types of banh mi sandwiches and this was a smart take on the traditional Vietnamese dish combining pho and banh mi. It had all the flavors of a traditional pho noodle soup with the thinly sliced beef and lots of aromatic  herbs. The jus on the side was basically a pho broth.

Portions were pretty generous so we skipped dessert which is a first.

Lily on Clement is a great neighborhood joint so my rating is a 7.5/10.
