Review: La Nebbia.

One of my favorite quaint restaurants in San Francisco for simple delicious Italian food is La Ciccia in Noe Valley and right down the street is their sister restaurant La Nebbia.

Since I love La Ciccia, I knew I had to try their sister restaurant which is more of a pizzeria joint with a few appetizers and main dishes. Their menu is also simple Italian food using fresh good ingredients.

Burrata Cheese with Spring Peas and Fava Beans (8/10).

One of my favorite foods is Burrata cheese, a similar cheese to Mozzarella but the inside is a mixture of Mozzarella cheese and cream giving it a richer creamier texture. The Burrata cheese was drizzled with fruity olive oil and seasoned with salt and pepper and was accompanied by beautiful sweet peas and fava beans. A classic pairing.

Artichokes with Fennel Sausage and Calabrian Chilis (7/10).

The artichokes with fennel sausage was perfect with the slight heat from the Calabrian chilis.

Lasagna with Meat Sugo and Béchamel (8/10).

The lasagna was traditional but executed well with a hearty meat sugo and béchamel sauce.

Pizza with Tomato Sauce, Speck, Mozzarella Cheese, and Gorgonzola Cheese (8.5/10).

Lastly, their pizza was a traditional Neapolitan style with that chewy thin crust. Sweet tomato sauce with salty slices of speck (dry cured smoked ham), gooey Mozzarella cheese, and tangy pungent Gorgonzola cheese. So good.

Just like La Ciccia, La Nebbia serves homey tasty food that’s sure to hit the spot so my rating is a 7.5-8/10.
