Review: DAMNFiNE.

This pizza joint specializes in naturally fermented thin crust pizzas and it’s pretty freakin’ delicious.

While DAMNFiNE has been open since early 2021, it took me a while to make the trek there as it’s in the Outer Sunset in San Francisco. The restaurant is very much suited for the neighborhood with its laidback chill vibes. We went for an early dinner but by the time we finished, the restaurant had filled up.

Inside DAMNFiNE.

DAMNFiNE’s menu has a few appetizers, salads, a small selection of pastas, and 12 pizzas choices which all sounded incredbile with fun flavor combinations.

Calamari Fritti (8/10).

A very solid fried calamari appetizer with harissa aioli and I really enjoyed the fried slices of lemon which added a little tartness to cut through the fried seafood.

Watermelon Salad (7/10).

While I liked all the ingredients in the salad (watermelon, arugula, frisée, mint, cucumber, and fried shallots), the salad was really overdressed with the chili lime vinaigrette where a puddle of vinaigrette was at the bottom of the bowl. Also the watermelon should have been riper and more abundant in the salad.

To be honest, all of their pizzas sounded enticing which included vegetarian, seafood, and meat options. The sourdough crust added that insatiable tang which was so good.

“Life’s a Peach”: Yellow Peaches, Prosciutto, and Gorgonzola (9/10).

This white pizza had Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, and Provolone cheese topped with juicy sweet slices of summer peaches, salty prosciutto, red onion, basil, thyme, and a drizzle of wildflower honey.

“Sausage & Sage”: Fennel Sausage, Caramelized Onions, and Sage (9/10).

Another winner of a pizza with tomato sauce, Mozzarella cheese, fennel sausage, caramelized onions, and fresh sage. The sweetness of the onions and the earthiness of the sage complimented the sausage so well.

While DAMNFiNE might be out of the way, it’s worth a visit for some outstanding sourdough pizzas. I would probably skip the salad next time as clearly the pizzas are the showstoppers so my overall rating is an 8.5/10.
