Review: Yank Sing.

I have been going to Yank Sing for as long as I can remember. As a child, I would go there (the old location) with my parents on Sundays to enjoy a delicious lunch savoring traditional and contemporary dim sum. Dim sum is a style of Cantonese food that is served in bite-sized or small portions usually served in steamer baskets or small plates.

Now Yank Sing’s main location is inside the Rincon center in San Francisco. Since they are only open during lunch hours as dim sum is traditionally only eaten at lunch/brunch time, it can get quite busy on the weekends so be sure to make reservations ahead.

The best way to enjoy Yank Sing is to share all the dishes family style.

I love coming to Yank Sing for lunch to enjoy delicious dim sum and other scrumptious dishes. My favorite dishes are the shrimp and chive dumplings, rice noodles with shrimp, and the Peking duck. Some of my other favorite dishes that I didn’t order are xiaolongbao, Shanghai soup dumplings, and the baked bbq pork buns. Yank Sing‘s fond childhood memories remain true as this restaurant continues to serve exceptionally prepared dishes using the freshest possible high quality ingredients. I’ve been to plenty of other dim sum restaurants but Yank Sing soars above all the others.

That being said, Yank Sing is more expensive than your typical dim sum restaurant but nonetheless, my rating for Yank Sing is an 8/10 for always serving a wide variety of consistently tasty dim sum. I would highly recommend coming here with family or a group of friends if you’re willing to splurge for high quality dim sum!
