Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, has been one of my favorite European cities that I have visited so far! With gothic cathedrals, monasteries, and narrow alleyways, it’s hard not to fall in love with this vibrant and majestic city.
I visited Lisbon for four days in 2013 with my boyfriend and we were eager to eat our way through the town. We had watched Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations and decided to try some of the restaurants that were featured on his show. First stop was Cervejaria Ramiro, a local seafood restaurant.
The garlic clams at Cervejaria Ramiro are to die for! Tender little clams in mounds of garlic butter, what could be better?! I could have easily devoured another plate of them. Also the traditional steak sandwich is a must here! Overall, I’d rate them at a 7.5-8/10. The second restaurant we tried was 100 Maneiras.
The restaurant is cozy and intimate and the service was friendly. The restaurant only provides a tasting menu so look at the menu before online to get an idea if you’ll enjoy it or not. I was quite satisfied with the meal (7.5/10) and the pricing was very affordable for a special occasion or date night. My boyfriend and I are most definitely looking forward to visit Portugal again to see what else this country has to offer!
