So you’re probably wondering where are the pictures of dishes that I’ve made at culinary school? I’ve posted plenty of food photos from my travels but none of the dishes that I’ve made. Well, I attended culinary school for three years in Florence and over those years I’ve taken too many pictures. So I compiled some of my favorite dishes that I’ve made from my time at culinary school. Continue reading

Trento.
Out of all the Italian towns I have visited, Trento certainly took me by surprise. Located in the Trentino Alto-Adige region of northern Italy, this picturesque city surrounded by mountains was a pleasure to visit. I didn’t know much about the city itself just about the cuisine that this region offered. Due to its proximity to Austria, some of the food found in this region has Germanic influence. I visited this charming city with Tommaso for a weekend and absolutely fell in love with it! Continue reading
Turin.
Turin, the capital of the Piedmont region in Italy, might be known as the home for the FIAT car company but this city is also rich in culture. I had been to Piedmont the year before when I visited the small town of Alba so I was enthusiastic to visit the capital. So in 2014 I spent a weekend here exploring the city! Continue reading
Venice.
The blue-grey cloudy sky, the Grand Canal swelling up, and the narrow alleyways compose the mystical city of Venice. The city built upon water is one of the most romantic cities in the world unlike any other due to magnificent architecture and artwork set within the Venetian lagoon. Whether it’s taking a gondola ride across the Grand Canal, sipping on a Bellini in Piazza San Marco, or dressing up to attend the world’s largest masked ball at Carnevale, this city has a lot to offer. I’ve visited Venice three times already and I know I’ll be back. Continue reading
Review: Il Palagio.
Well, after ringing in 2014 in Amsterdam it was time for Tommaso’s birthday! In 2013 I took him to Il Convivio Troiani in Rome. Since we were both back in Florence for school I decided to plan a dinner at Il Palagio, a one Michelin star restaurant located in the Four Seasons Hotel. Continue reading
Milan.
Milan is known as one of the fashion capitals of the world. But for me, it’s all about the food. Milan is the capital of the Lombardy region of Italy and I was thrilled to visit this city since I hadn’t been to this region before! So in winter of 2013, Tommaso and I took the train there for a weekend to explore the city. Continue reading
Alba.
The quaint town of Alba is located in northern Italy in the Piedmont region. Every November the city becomes alive with tourists all coming for one reason and one reason only…truffles. Some of the best white truffles in the world are found growing here! Tommaso and I decided to head up north from Florence to check out the truffle festival for ourselves. Continue reading
Review: Osteria Francescana.
Osteria Francescana is a modern Italian three Michelin star restaurant located in Modena, a small city in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. Currently it is considered the number third best restaurant in the world according to San Pellegrino’s The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Continue reading
When in Rome.
Oh the eternal city! Rome is one of the worlds most popular tourist destinations and for good reason. There’s something remarkable and quite magical about a city built upon ancient ruins. I guess I can also call Rome my second home, after Florence of course, since my boyfriend is Romano and his family lives there. Here are some of my favorite snapshots from my numerous visits to Rome over the last four years living in Europe. Continue reading
Naples.
I’ve only been to Naples once and guess what for? Pizza. Yup, that’s right! Continue reading
