These aren’t your typical donuts but you’ll love the fun over the top flavors that are worth a try.
Magic Donuts opened in San Francisco in fall of 2023 coming from the same restaurant group as Spruce, The Village Pub, and Selby’s so you know these donuts are going to be some designer donuts. Made with sourdough, these donuts were surprisingly not too heavy and overall well balanced in flavor. I went on a weekday and they had all the flavors except the original glazed which was bummer since I use that flavor as a baseline.

Campfire, Lemon Meringue, Caramel Apple, Boston Cream, Maple Pecan, and Mandarin Pistachio.

Sugar & Spice.
Of course we had to get a variety and there were definitely some standouts. My top flavors were the lemon meringue donut and the maple pecan donut. The lemon meringue donut had a smooth and tangy lemon cream topped with silky torched meringue. The maple pecan donut had a maple pastry cream and candied pecans on top. Both were well balanced without being overly sweet. I also liked the sugar & spice, a simple donut dusted in a cinnamon cardamon sugar.
All in all these donuts were solid and I’d rate them an 8-8.5/10. If you’re looking for unconventional donuts, this is the place to go.
