I’ve been curious but slightly hesitant to try 1760, a New American cuisine restaurant located on Polk Street in San Francisco, because I’ve heard mixed reviews about the place. I was initially intrigued to try 1760 because it’s the sister restaurant of the fine dining Italian establishment, Acquerello (you can read my review here), in San Francisco where I’ve dined twice and absolutely loved it. Review: Kokkari Estiatorio.
When I visited the island of Santorini back in 2013, I completely fell in love with Greek cuisine. Vibrant vegetables, fresh seafood and meat, and aromatic herbs make up this delicious cuisine. Kokkari Estiatorio has been a favorite in San Francisco for over a decade serving simple yet fantastic Greek inspired food. Continue reading
Review: Yank Sing.
I have been going to Yank Sing for as long as I can remember. As a child, I would go there (the old location) with my parents on Sundays to enjoy a delicious lunch savoring traditional and contemporary dim sum. Dim sum is a style of Cantonese food that is served in bite-sized or small portions usually served in steamer baskets or small plates. Continue reading
Review: Nopalito.
Since I never eat Mexican food back in Italy, I wanted to try Nopalito, a restaurant offering modern takes on classic Mexican cuisine with a Californian twist. They have two locations in San Francisco, one in the Inner Sunset and one near the Lower Haight (the original location). We decided to try the restaurant in the Inner Sunset since I was staying with a friend who lives near there. Continue reading

Chef Michael Chiarello, owner of Bottega Ristorante in Yountville, opened his Spanish style tapas restaurant called Coqueta along San Francisco’s Embarcadero last year. Since their opening, the restaurant has been extremely successful due to the delicious and fun tapas style menu and the amazing location along the water. Continue reading
Review: State Bird Provisions.
State Bird Provisions has been the hotspot in San Francisco since their opening back in 2012 and earned a Michelin star in 2014. State Bird Provisions, a New American/Californian cuisine restaurant, is so popular that they are booked for two months straight! Therefore, getting a reservation here is almost impossible but the restaurant does keep a portion of available seats open for walk-ins. Continue reading

This cozy and charming restaurant serves small plates inspired by Mediterranean cuisine with influences from classic French food. I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years since they consistently serve tasty food. Continue reading
Review: Pabu.
I had first visited Pabu, a modern Japanese restaurant in San Francisco, this past summer when they opened. I really enjoyed the food at Pabu so I wanted to take Tommaso there so he could experience delicious Japanese food and high quality fish. Continue reading
Review: Commis.
Commis, a modern New American/Californian cuisine restaurant located on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, was established back in 2009 and received its Michelin star four months after its opening. The restaurant offers one prix fixe nightly menu, that changes frequently depending on what products and ingredients are available, with multiple small courses showcasing beautiful refined food. Review: Ramen Shop.
I’ve been passing by Ramen Shop, located on College Avenue in Oakland, since their opening back in 2012. Somehow I never seemed to make it there even though my parents house is literally five minutes away! Continue reading
