This fast casual spot is serving up vibrant Arab street food.
Reem’s California had a location in Oakland back in the day and relocated to San Francisco in 2020. Chef Reem Assil grew up in a Palestinian-Syrian household and wanted to share her culture and heritage through her passion of cooking. The menu is straightforward with mezzes, flatbreads, and wraps and we ordered a variety of items.

Inside Reem’s California.

Mezze Sampler (8.5/10).
The mezze sampler is a must if coming here with an array of delicious dips (hummus, baba ghanouj, muhammara, and labneh) with pickled vegetables and served with pita. All the dips were delicious but the highlights were the muhammara (roasted red pepper with walnut, pomegranate, and chili) and the baba ghanouj (eggplant with tahini, lemon, and parsley).

La Gringa Wrap (7.5/10).
The la gringa wrap was stuffed with slow cooked lamb with cheese, chile morita, and pickled red onion served with a consommé on the side. It was reminiscent of birria tacos since they serve that with consommé as well.

MLM Mana’eesh (7-7.5/10).
Mana’eesh is their version of flatbread and while this was tasty, I wanted more of the cured sujuk, a dried spiced sausage. I did like the freshness of the tomatoes and arugula though.
Reem’s California is a great lunch spot with fresh and healthy options so my rating is a 7.5/10.
