Review: Mourad.

I was very excited and intrigued to try the hot new restaurant called Mourad that just opened up six weeks ago located inside the PacBell Building on New Montgomery Street in San Francisco. Review: Bouchon.

Anyone and everyone knows of the famous American chef Thomas Keller, a culinary god. He’s the only American chef to own two three Michelin starred restaurants, The French Laundry in Yountville and Per Se in New York City. Now I would have died to go eat at The French Laundry again (too bad I was five years old when I ate there) but the restaurant is currently closed for renovation! So I decided to have a relaxing lunch in Yountville at chef Keller’s one Michelin star restaurant, Bouchon, a classic French inspired bistro. Continue reading

Since being back in California, I’ve actually been craving Italian food! After all, I have been living in Florence for almost four years and I’m used to eating pasta three to four times a week or even more! Review: Commis.

Commis, a modern New American/Californian cuisine restaurant located on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, was established back in 2009 and received its Michelin star four months after its opening. The restaurant offers one prix fixe nightly menu, that changes frequently depending on what products and ingredients are available, with multiple small courses showcasing beautiful refined food. Amalfi Coast and the Island of Capri.

Lush green mountains and multicolored buildings make up the landscape of the coastal gems of the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri, located in the Campania region of Southern Italy. I’ve been fortunate to visit both of these places twice and every time I visit it’s absolutely breath taking. The Amalfi Coast  is made up of small towns all situated along cliffs. The main towns and most visited ones are Amalfi, Positano, and Ravello, all beautiful in their own way. Continue reading
