After a fantastic dining experience at SingleThread the night before, we decided to stroll through the quaint downtown area of Healdsburg before heading home.
Our first stop was SHED, a small marketplace with fresh local produce, artisanal food items, various cook books, household items, and even a café.
While we didn’t eat at SHED, the food looked fresh, vibrant, and colorful using local fruits and vegetables. I would definitely recommend walking around the small marketplace since they have various artisanal products to choose from.
We decided to have lunch at Bravas Bar de Tapas, a cute Spanish restaurant a block away from SingleThread. I love tapas restaurants since you can sample various dishes because of the small portions.
I really love anchovies especially when they’re prepared so simply yet are so flavorful. With a drizzle of fruity olive oil and crunchy vegetables on top, this was the perfect starter.
Simple yet delicious. Crunchy toasted bread smeared with crushed juicy tomatoes, aromatic garlic, olive oil, and salt.
I loved the meaty rich chorizo with the blistered padron peppers.
These croquetas were nicely fried with a crispy crust and ooey gooey cheesy filling. It did lack a pinch of salt that would have elevated the dish.
These grilled calamari were tender and paired perfectly with the herbaceous salsa verde and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
I have an extreme obsession with grilled cheese sandwiches and this did not disappoint. Salty Serrano ham with Manchego cheese and truffle paste?! I mean c’mon…what can go wrong?
Another winner. Creamy crab meat with crunchy earthy celery root on top of crunchy toasts. Pretty damn good.
These patatas bravas lacked some seasoning and I wasn’t particularly fond of the tomato sauce because it almost reminded me of just tomato paste and ketchup.
Oh man, these were little morsels of deliciousness. Sweet creamy dates stuffed with blue cheese wrapped in bacon with a balsamic glaze.
Bravas Bar de Tapas offered an array of cold and warm tapas, a la plancha dishes, and even paella. Definitely a great restaurant to go to if you love trying various dishes. Everything we ordered was scrumptious and service was wonderful. Overall my rating is an 8/10.
