Review: Teni East Kitchen.

The East Bay is slowly stepping up their game in the restaurant world. Teni East Kitchen, a casual Asian fusion restaurant, just opened their doors and already it’s a hit!

Teni East Kitchen serves delicious dishes with Indian and Thai flavors that will satisfy your cravings for full flavored spiced foods.

Roti with Lentil Curry (8/10).

We started off the roti, an Indian style crepe that was served with an intensely rich spiced dipping sauce with peas. Definitely get this.

Spicy Catfish with Lemongrass and Chilies (7/10).

Next, the spicy catfish was piled high with chilies; this is not a dish for the faint of heart. While the catfish itself was fried perfectly with a crispy exterior and moist fish, the amount of chilies was even a bit too spicy for me.

Cumin Pork Belly with Shallots and Basil (8/10).

The cumin pork belly was hella tasty especially with the fresh aromatic basil. This was another favorite of mine.

Cauliflower and Sweet Corn with Ginger and Onion (7.5/10).

The cauliflower and sweet corn was also on point. Super sweet with delicious fried pieces of ginger which added a unique flavor to the dish.

Coconut Rice (9/10).

The coconut rice was one of my favorite items that we tried. The rice must have been cooked in coconut milk because it had a delicate sweet flavor with almost a creamy texture. Amazing.

Next time I’ll be sure to try one of their curries because those looked great as well! Overall Teni East Kitchen is a solid restaurant for just opening up so my rating is a 7.5-8/10.
